All Schools should have a Non-binary bathroom

5.6% of adults identify as being part of the lgbtq+. Kids are too. 52% of all transgender and nonbinary young people contemplated killing themselves in 2020. The trans community is extremely vulnerable to suicide based on dysphoria and the way they are treated in society. These bathrooms would help make them feel better and less dysphoric. School is here to have a safe and excepting environment for learning. GLSEN research shows that nearly two-thirds of transgender students avoid school bathrooms because of feeling unsafe or uncomfortable. There has been studies that forcing trans students to use the bathroom of the gender they were assigned can lead to students holding it or restricting taking in fluids risking pain and dehydration. Some students leave school altogether. A non-binary bathroom will benefit their wellbeing.
