Demand to Stop Re-Zoning of Arrowhead East, Tract B

Rezoning of Arrowhead East Tract B to from R-3 mixed residential to SU special use district for Planned Residential Development (PRD) which includes C-1 Retail Commercial, Residential; 25 acres of multifamily apartments, townhomes (attached and detached) and 15 acres of single family homes.
If this re-zoning is allowed it would result in a decline in property values to a minimum of 47 homes along the ridge overlooking the proposed area. Currently they have open space behind them with a view that extends North to the Jemez Mountains. In essence this rezoning will negatively affect Corrales Heights Neighborhood by decreasing many home values (especially those along the ridge above the proposed zone change area), pose a threat to the safety of our neighborhood as people from the increased traffic on HWY 528 create short cuts off the highway through our neighborhood, alter the essential character of our neighborhood by having 25 acres of mixed apartment complexes behind our homes. The change in use is not desired by this adjoining neighborhood. Also the increased traffic on Hwy 528, that is already heavily congested, is not needed nor desired. The area is already zoned R-3 which is low density multi dwelling multi residential district
