Close down Marineland

Since Marineland opened in 1961 in Niagara Falls, Canada, there have been 35 animal deaths due to the excrutiatingly horrifying conditions that their animals are living in.The animals from Marineland are captured from their natural habitat and put in small, cramped concrete tanks to live in captivity for the rest of their lives. The methods of capture are horrific, and similar to the methods shown in the 2009 movie 'The Cove'.Many of the animals die during transfer, or from sicknesses due to chemically treated water, stress, or infections due to foreign bodies. The animals are starved until they perform unnatural tricks such as flipping, and balancing balls on command, and their small, cramped, tanks where they have to survive. The Marineland website says that the facility is meant for education about wild marine animals, what is educative about watching stressed out, unhealthy dolphins do unnatural tricks in front of a lot of people?Marineland is a for-profit facility, and their interest is in money, not in the animals. They try to churn out more animals when they die, by breeding them in terrible ways. The orca's tanks are scarely larger than their bodies, so instead of swimming 100km a day like they normally would in the wild, they are forced to swim in tiny circles around their tank. Please sign this petition to do these poor animals justice and to put them where they belong; in the wild. That smile that you see on the dolphin's face, hides hurt and despair.
