Make smoking illegal (not the use of plants)
It is widely known now that all forms of smoke that are ingested by humans are in fact detrimental to our health. In the early 20th century smoking cigarettes was popularized by being distributed in the form of inexpensive boxes and publicized in all forms of media. After the generations exposed to this production of smoke were dying or terminally ill we began to reconsider our responsibilities in allowing the distribution and promotion of cigarettes. The use of both tobacco, salvia, and other illegal forms of smoke like marijuana has been well documented in ancient cultures as being used for purification, ritual, and spirituality. In fact the world we live in today has been brought by many forms of plant life and animal life constantly adding to our adaptation. Today marijuana is used as a form of medicine, and those that would keep it illegal point out that it is detrimental when you guessed it, smoked! Smoking is what should be made illegal whether the plant itself is regarded as being appropriate or not. We should not allow plants that exist with us on this planet to be called illegal, but we should work on our interaction with these plants as humans. We should work to extract what is good from these plants in ways which are not harmful, and stop putting precedent on making money in ways that are in fact stubbornly old and redundant in the face of new technology.
Let's make all smoking illegal. Free our people's lungs, and set free the plants we restrict by making our culture knowledgeable and learning to interact with our environments in ways that cannot be seen as harmful
We the undersigned view the use of plants in our society as being widely uneducated and stubbornly primitive. We as the people want The Government of Canada to make it their imperative to stop smoking as a whole, and implement alternate uses of things like Tobacco and Salvia. Our laws should focus on teaching us how to interact with our environments in healthy ways instead of trying to regulate the types of plants we see. Medicinal substances can be vaporized without being harmful to the body. The majority of substances smoked have alternate ways of being used. Thus we believe that this will not interfere with the economic powers of industry, and would encourage the furthering of healthy and educated technologies and practices within our country.
For the sake of all the Canadians and people around the world who have died or been made ill from being exposed to smoking either as smokers or by smokers we ask that you take this letter into serious consideration.
