Stop Using Exotic Animals in Church Ministry Circus

  • af: Nyack Clancy
  • mottagare: Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell

Jim Lavender, minister of the Discovery United Methodist Church in Virginia, owns more than two dozen exotic animals as part of his minisrty and travels around the country with them. He also uses big cats in his traveling show- a lion and a white tiger in his sermon to children.

He was a ringmaster Barnum Bailey Circus before he went in the ministry.

Tell the Governor of Virginia that exotic animals don't belong in traveling circus shows around children. Aside from the public safety factor, animals kept captive in cages and forced to travel around is cruelty and deprivation of a wild animals' natural habitat and separated from their most basic needs and instincts.
