Many of Kingstons residents wish these buildings were never conceptualized and are actively fighting it. But the truth is kingston needs these buildings more than ever. People stuck in the past want to preserve a historic feeling in Kingston but the city has virtually no downtown parking (which these buildings have included) and rent is insanely high because of the large student population not only would these buildings allow more people to live near the markets and boost the economy they would relieve parking pressure downtown as people can walk instead of drive downtown
