America, do you know what charges are on your electric/fuel bill? Do you know how much you are paying for electricity? I thought I did until I read my bill. It was a moderate bill of $81.51; however, upon further examination of the bill I actually only used $30.48 worth of fuel. I was shocked! I continue to read the bill and there was a non-fuel charge of $47.67. This charge did not make sense to me. The charges were not itemized nor did the bill disclose what I was paying for in non-fuel charges.
Florida Light and Power displayed zero transparency and accountability of my money. As a paying customer, I do not feel that I need to pay for infrastructure improvements? No, I buy electricity from them I do not maintain their equipment for them. That is a corporate responsbility.
I became IRRATE – I was robbed of $47.67, a week’s worth of groceries. The questions were simple, "Why did I get charged more for non-fuel usage, than for my true fuel consumption"? "What am I paying for in non-fuel chargers"?, “Where is the itemization of these charges”?
Well I called Florida Light and Power, I was told that those chargers were to “DELIVER” the electricity to my home. I laughed, and I said, “WHAT are you talking about”? The $30.48 is the fuel consumption I used and that is paying for it to be delivered to my door. What a twisted answer I thought.
FL&P has passed off their corporate bonuses, benefits and infrastructure imporvements onto my bill. I was robbed -- just like everyone else was. People, infastructure improvements are a corporate responsibility not a customer responsibility. If you are going to charge me for infastructure imporements you better itemize each one and where my dollars are going.
America – DEMAND full DISCLOSURE on your fuel bills. Demand that FL&P or your local electric/fuel company show itemize charges for all charges on your bill. Do not let the energy companies steel any more non-fuel related charges from you. People DEMAND ITEMIZATION AND CORPORATE TRANSPARENCY ON ELECTRIC/FUEL BILLS.
