Abu Dhabi 2021: The Day Formula 1 Lost Its Fairness

  • mottagare: FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile)

How can a sport built on rules and fairness let its biggest race end in total confusion? The 2021 Formula 1 finale in Abu Dhabi was meant to be a battle of skill and strategy—not last-minute decisions that flipped the outcome and stunned millions. Race Director Michael Masi instructed only the lapped cars between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen to unlap themselves, violating Article 48.12 of the Sporting Regulations, which required all lapped cars to do so. This allowed Verstappen, on fresh tyres, to line up directly behind Hamilton for a one-lap shootout, ultimately deciding the championship. The FIA later admitted mishandling the situation and made changes, but the damage was done. We must stand for accountability, demand consistency, and protect the integrity of competition. This is our moment to speak truth to power and restore justice for Lewis Hamilton—because silence is not an option when fairness is at stake!
