Stop Transporting Live Animals for Slaughter in Ontario

In October 2010 the Toronto Star printed an article about a truck carrying live animals rolling over on highway 427.  Isn't it time that we stopped the transport of animal stock into a processing plant in the city?  Don't we care about the way our food is raised and fed?  Shouldn't that also include humane treatment during the process of production from the farmer too?  Our highways are far too congested to include carrying live animals to the processing plant.  Not only is it stressful and barbaric to crowd them into these conditions, but they also cannot be kept cool or warm, watered or placated in the noisy, crowded, sometimes slow trip into the big city.
