Demand that the person who threw a kitten off an overpass in Charleston, SC be prosecuted as a felon

Someone took a black and white kitten into a pet store in Charleston, SC and demanded that they take the kitten or he would throw it off an overpass. The pet store said that they could not take the kitten but suggested they take it to the animal shelter. Instead of taking the kitten to the animal shelter, which was only a few hundred feet from the overpass, the person threw the kitten off the overpass into heavy traffic on I-26. The kitten was killed. Many drivers slammed on their brakes to try to avoid the kitten. Was the depraved person who killed this kitten trying to cause an accident by throwing the kitten into traffic? It is common knowledge that people who abuse animals often commit violent crimes as well. The maximum fine for a municipal charge of animal cruelty is $1,092 or 30 days in jail. A felony count at the state level could bring up to five years in prison. Please sign this petition asking that the person be charged on a felony count. We must send the message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated and will be punished to the full extent of the law.
