Demand Iran Drop the Death Penalty and Free LGBT Activists

Human rights groups allege that the Islamic Republic of Iran has sentenced two women, Zahra Seddiqi Hamedani, 31, and Elham Choubdar, 24, to death for their links to LGBTQ+ activists on social media.

An Iranian court has charged the women with "corruption of Earth" for promoting homosexuality, promoting Christianity, for communicating with media hostile to Iran, and for what are almost certainly trumped-up sex trafficking charges.

Demand Iran free Zahra and Elham!

Seddiqi Hamedani was arrested in Iran attempting to flee to Turkey from Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region, where she had been tortured and imprisoned for appearing in a BBC documentary about the abuses faced by LGBTQ+ people in the region.

"Without international support, we have no hope," says Shadi Amin from German-based Iranian LGBTQ group 6Rang.
