Thank Judge Winmill for Striking Down Idaho's Ag-gag Law

On 4 August, U.S. District Court Chief Judge B. Lynn Winmill struck down Idaho’s ag-gag law, which criminalized undercover investigations of agricultural operations, for violating both our First Amendment right to free speech and the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. In the opinion, Judge Winmill scolded legislators for passing the law, stating that “[p]rotecting the private interests of a powerful industry, which produces the public’s food supply, against public scrutiny is not a legitimate government interest.”

Dear Judge Winmall,

We, the undersigned, wanted to express our gratitude for your striking down the ag-gag law in Idaho. Knowing what is going on and how animals are treated is very important.
