Demand Santorini bans the use of donkeys carrying tourists up steep cliff path

There is no need for this when there is alternative transport. There are buses lifts and stairs available. These donkeys are forced to carry tourists many of them overweight in direct sunlight with no shade or fresh water. They are forced to stand in extreme temperatures in the blazing sun from early morning until evening. I have seen videos of these animals being hit on the face with a stick to force them to walk down winding pathways. I had a day trip to Santorini and have witnessed these poor animals forced to carry adults who would be over the weight limit for these donkeys to carry.
