Everyone knows that Dumbledore is gay. J.K. Rowling has
affirmed it many times and even Director David Yates acknowledged it. So why won't his new movie about
The Crimes of Grindelwald, which features a young Dumbledore, show that he is gay?
Sign on the ask David Yates to portray Dumbledore as he was at that time, gay and falling in love with Grindelwald.I have been a Harry Potter fan my whole life. I was the perfect age to attend book releases and movie releases at about the same ages as the characters and it was an absolutely magical part of my adolescence.
Even though I LOVE the series, it does have a limited amount of gay characters represented. That's why it's so great that such a prominent figure in the books is gay. Now that the sequel to Fantastic Beasts is going to straight wash him, I'm really disappointed. Representation is important and I want every LGBTQ person to know that they have a place in the world of Harry Potter.
Not to mention that Jude Law is playing Dumbledore and Johnny Depp is playing Grindelwald. I literally cannot think of two better actors to fall in love in the wizarding world.
Who will join me in asking for David Yates to do justice to Dumbledore and Grindelwald's love?
