No Wall on Kahn

Luis Kahn’s Assembly Building in Dhaka, Bangladesh is considered to be “one of the twentieth century's greatest architectural monuments”. Situated in the heart of Dhaka, it is the centerpiece of the capital complex – which not only acts as a citadel for the nation’s capital but also as an active open space for the masses in an ever busy and congested city.

The government of Bangladesh has started erecting an eight foot high wall around the complex– which has the potential of permanently damaging the vision of Kahn’s masterplan.
