Demand a More Accepting Campus at San Dimas High School

In my past years at San Dimas High School, I've noticed that many people use discriminatory language towards others, use derogatory terms as a joke, and make really cruel jokes about tragedies that have occurred throughout history, including the 9/11 Terrorist Attack, The Holocaust, and many school shootings. I believe that making jokes about these situations are very inappropriate as well as using discriminatory language against others. The main discrimination being Homophobia, and Sexism against women. Many of these things have been said in the presence of a teacher, and the students were unpunished. I am calling for more punishment for students that choose to discriminate like this, and for teachers to not stand by idly as these things happen. I want our school to be a place where students can feel free to be themselves, not scared of being different in fear of judgment. Let's work together to make our school a better place for everyone.
