Help wildlife that are dying from poisons

I live in an area where groundhogs comb the open grounds around my apartment. A few days ago a lawn company came out to mow and take care of the grass area around the building. They left signs all around the property that stated, please keep off the lawns, poisonous chemicals have been sprayed around grass areas. A few days later one of the groundhogs was found in the parking lot, running in circles as if he were chasing his tail. He’d rest for a few seconds, and start circling again. This went on for an hour. As he was heading toward the highway, I knew I had to act fast. I called every wildlife rescue in the area, but they were all closed. Thinking quickly, I fenced him in using a gate. Of course I couldn’t just leave him there, he obviously had been poisoned. I ran and got my hamper basket and he immediately climbed in. I then brought him into a wooded area nearby and released him. I don’t exactly know how to solve this problem, however, I will try to petition for the banning of poisonous products such as; weed killers, fertilizers, pesticides, and other harmful products. I don’t feel that our beautiful lawns are more important than protecting our wildlife. That poor little guy is obviously sick, and suffering. Yes, I saved him from the traffic, but had no means to treat or cure his illness. This is one case of cruelty, I’m sure this happens more times than we’re aware of. Something must be done to protect all of our wildlife. I would like to see our government realize the problem and set a law banning all chemicals around our wildlife. Thank you, D.R.
