30 May 1967 :
The military governor of the Igbo-dominated southeast, Colonel Odumegwu Ojukwu, citing the northern massacres of thousands of Biafrans by Northerns and electoral fraud, ordered all Biafrans to return home because the Nigeria government failed to protect them and he proclaimed with southern parliament the secession of the eastern region from Nigeria as the Republic of Biafra, an independent nation.
With this i stand and appeal to all Biafrans to return home,
*. we are tired of diging grave .
*. we are tired of crying , our brothers can't be put to enternal rest in another mans land.
*. You can't be protected outside Biafra but within the walls and The Almighty God that protect Biafra will guide and protect you.
To others outside Biafra , to you i say defend yourself and don't be killed like fowls.
