Keep Our Children Safe - move the bus stop!

The current bus stop for residents of West Market in Reston, VA who attend Lake Anne Elementary and Forest Edge Elementary is unsafe for our children. The stop is located along an extremely busy 4-lane road. Reston Parkway has become highly populated with the building of the Metro and the constant increase in businesses and residences in and around Reston Town Center. We feel that it is unsafe for our children to wait on the side of this dangerous road for the buses. Cars and trucks speed down this road and often fly around the stopped buses. We are proposing that the bus stops be moved one block back into the neighborhood - at the intersection of Market Street and Crescent Park Drive. This is a quiet and safe street where the speed limit is only 15mph versus 35 mph. The goal of FCPS transportation services is to keep the students safe - however, the current stop is dangerous for our children.
