We the citizens of North Raceland and surrounding area here by sign this petition to express the disappointment of closing our neighborhood Rouses , located at 3880 Highway 1.
This Rouse's was one of the first Rouse store. This store is a historic landmark and where Rouse's made some of it's first dollars. The citizens of this community and surrounding area have supported this store from day one, and continue to this day. Most citizens have formed a dependency on this store; the elderly with no transportation, to the kid who just learned to count, to the residence in a 10 mile radius that has no grocery store close to their home.
This is our Rouses, in spite of the higher prices we supported it, and not taking our loyalty into consideration is very disheartening.
So yes, there is a Rouses located in Mathews, but that is too far for the elderly who has no car, for the child who need an afternoon snack, and for the commuter who lives as far as St. Charles, coming home from a long days work.
So please Mr. Rouse keep our neighborhood Rouses OPEN!!! The community depend on this store, love this store, and helped raised you into the brand you are today! Supporting locals..... have been your philosophy for over 55 years, so support the locals of Raceland by keeping our location open!

This peition has been signed by the supporters of the Raceland Rouse's. Please take into consideration the concerns and dependency of these citizens. Rouses it is time to stand behind your word and support the locals of Raceland. We have supported you from day one and even in the mist of the closure, (not honoring sale prices, not fulfilling WIC), but we are still yet supporting you. That is called loyallty, and that is some thing that should not be taken likely. Please take reconsider this closure, it's not too late.
