Restore the American People's Political Voice

I know that the League hasn't sponsored debates for many years, but the American political process is in dire straits and needs the education provided by the League of Women Voters when they sponsored presidential debates. This is the perfect election cycle for the League to sponsor presidential and vice presidential debates again. Dissatisfaction with the major party candidates is at an all time high, and the Commission on Presidential Debates has actively stifled the voice of the 3rd parties that many Americans desperately wish to hear.

Many in the broader American public overwhelmingly feel that they have no voice in our government anymore. The League would make a great contribution to American democracy by helping to give the newer parties a way to connect to Americans searching for people who will truly advocate their values.

If the major parties do not want to join, that's fine. Just invite the 3rd parties that gain ballot access to enough States to win the election.
