Please help raise attention to the dire need for public water on Middle Rd. properties North of Interstate 90 in Henrietta, NY. There are 11 single family homes on this stretch of Middle Rd., all on wells and septic. Unfortunately our well water is so hard with minerals and sulfur that they negatively impact our homes plumbing and fixtures, and requires us to clean our dishes with vinegar daily to remove the mineral deposits off dishes. Our well water leaves white powdery streaks on our clean laundry, and is undrinkable due to taste. We must bring in drinking water from a different source and pay for our families consumable water. Not to mention we cannot wash our vehicles without white streaks of minerals being left behind. Those of us with light hair color even notice their hair has a red tinge! We also have concerns with fire safety for our homes and local business in our industrial zoned premises. Water would likely bring us fire hydrants.
We seek to bring awareness to the well water concerns we Henrietta residents have shared for decades here on Middle Rd. We write this petition to bring awareness to the Town of Henrietta regarding Middle Rd. residents on wells and their poor water quality as well as future water access concerns. We share this petition in hopes that we the residents of Henrietta, the Town of Henrietta, and fellow municipalities can work together in bringing public water and sewer to our small but mighty portion of Middle Rd., albeit through zoning incentives, bonds, or any other advised avenues.
