Scrap Proposed Agricultural Gag Laws in Australia and Prioritise Animal Welfare Instead

  • af: Natalie Penn

Animals have a right to be treated with dignity and respect. The animal farming industries need to be held accountable for their actions. Agricultural-gag laws serve only to shield the commercial interests of intensive farming operations and to stifle transparency about factory farming and illegal animal cruelty. The Proposed Bill suppresses the public’s right to question the status quo, and in so doing, poses a serious threat to the animal protection movement, consumer's rights, free political communication and the ability of all civil groups to engage in legitimate political debate. If you care about your rights as a consumer to know what food systems you are supporting, please sign this petition.
