LGBT rights are a civil rights matter.

Civil Rights is something that covers minority rights, to ensure that the majority does not turn minorities into second class citizens or strip them of their rights and equality. 1 in ten people, or 10% of the population identifies themselves (and that is just accounting for people who are out and admitting it) as being apart of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or transexual community. That means, that there is at least one lgbt person in your family, in your work place, amongst friends, even if they are not sharing this fact with you, lgbt people are everywhere, coming from all races, ethnicities, cultures, religions, countries and so on. It is something that goes beyond the superficial and is about whats in a person's heart and mind. A lgbt person cannot change who they are any more than a person can change their race, which is why I find your organization targeting racial minorities to get on your band wagon apalling. We need to put our pesonal views aside and have marriage equality for all and stop stalling social progress due to blinded bigotry. Denying the right for two people to marry because they are the same gender is bigotry, working to ensure they never see that right is bigotry. Stop lying to yourselves, your organization spreads hate and if you are against hate and bigotry then focus on marriage equality for ALL people.
We the undersigned, want to make you aware that LGBT rights are a civil rights matter. The fact is that 1 in 10, or 10%, of the population idenify as being gay or lesbian. We are not asking for special rights, nor do we have an "agenda", all we as is for the same rights and protections under the law as heterosexual couples have. It is wrong to try to manipulate racial minorities to jump on your band wagon and produce more bigotry and hate. The reality of the situation, since 10% of the population is gay, there is a good chance that there are LGBT people in your very own families, at your workplace, in your neighborhood or amongst your friends, they may or may not choose to share this information to you but we are everywhere. It is wrong to deny a whole population of people, who come from all walks of life and come from every race, ethnicity, culture, and country on this planet, the basic right to marry who they love. Denying these rights stems from blinded-bigotry, ignorance, intolerance and downright hate. I strongly believe in minding my own business and live and let live, even if I don't understand. I hope you rethink your stance and thank you for taking time to view this petition.
