Tasmania is one of the last wilderness areas on earth. Her pristine cool climate rain forests hold 5 times the carbon of any other forest on the planet. A culture of greed and corruption is tearing the heart out of Tasmania's forests by clear-felling, burning and replacing them with monoculture plantations. All this is to make paper in Japan, China and on the Asian mainland. The Australian Federal Government is paying countries like Indonesia to prevent the same destruction it is paying to have happen in Tasmania.
