Stop the FDA from regulating supplements and nutrients

Recently Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) introduced S.1310 which would mandate the FDA to regulate ordinary supplements and nutrients that are sold in health food stores, grocers and drug stores across the nation.  Supplements such as probiotics, fish oil, krill oil, vitamins, chlorella, sulfur and other natural, commonly consumed supplements that people know cure or strongly support cures from everything from high blood pressure to cancer will now have to pass extensive clinical trials to be sold in the US.  Natural substances that are commonly consumed and have been so for years do not need such stringent, expensive regulation.
The FDA has not shown to be an effective enforcer of anything.  Prescription drugs, when properly used, are approx. the 4th leading cause of death in the US for healthy adults and children killing tens of thousands per year. All natural, nutritional supplements are not shown to be a leading cause of anything harmful.
Further tell your representatives you want your local health food store and natural drug store to disseminate information on clinical studies involving improvements and cures when using certain supplements and nutritional (food) based treatments.  Big Pharma is not always right and their harsh chemicals often cause more harm than good in many, many people.
