Devon County Council: Please ban all unnecessary shooting in Devon!

I have heard banging near my home in Devon, UK. I have even seen a shooter once (they could have been a pest controller).
I am an animal advocate, and I am against all unnecessary shooting, whether it be of pheasants, grouse, unwanted calves (by farmers), deer or any other *sentient* being.
Shooting poses a threat to the targeted animals. It also poses a threat to the wildlife that are killed to "protect" the animals that are shot for "sport", such as foxes, stoats and native birds of prey. It could also, perhaps, pose a threat to other animals and, maybe, even people, who could get hit by stray bullets and/or otherwise shot by accident.
Devon County Council, please ban all unnecessary shooting in Devon, if you can. Thank you.
