Thank N.I.H. for Retiring Lab Chimpanzees to Sanctuary

The National Institutes of Health has announced that they will move all 106 of the chimpanzees at the New Iberia Research Center to Chimp Haven, a federal chimpanzee sanctuary in Keithville, Lousiana.
Scientists the world over have learned that tests on one species do not determine how another species will be affected. In vitro tests involving human cell and tissue cultures are faster, cheaper, and more reliable than animal tests in many instances.
Thank the director of the agency for sparing these chimpanzees to futher time in a medical laboratory, subjected to experiments. Encourage him to use the many alternatives that do not involving animal testing and suffering, which are far more humane and cost effective than the muti-million dollar anima tests which yeild no conclusive results for humans.
