Hank the Rottweiler Was Locked in a Freezing Apartment Without Heat, Food, or Water for Weeks

Neglecting an animal is a form of abuse. And there are few cases where that is more clear than what happened to an innocent Rottweiler in St. Albans, Vermont.

The poor pup, named Hank, was left for weeks in an apartment without heat, food, or running water. Without food or water, and freezing in the Vermont cold, Hank barely survived. When he was found, he had lost a whopping 77 pounds from the abuse. This is over half of most male Rottweilers' healthy weight.

Sign now to tell St. Albans authorities: give the man responsible for this abuse mandatory counseling and a lifetime ban on animal ownership!

Against all odds, Hank has recovered and has been adopted. But we could have lost this sweet Rottweiler forever. The man responsible for the inhumane neglect that risked Hank's life must be held accountable.

According to local news coverage, the man who neglected Hank will receive no jail time and was given a probationary sentence instead. He has also been told he cannot own animals, but it is unclear if that is a lifetime ban or just a ban on animal ownership during his probation.

Local authorities need to make it clear to both this man and all other pet owners in the area: this kind of abuse will not be tolerated. The man must be given mandatory counseling and a lifetime ban on owning animals! Sign the petition now if you agree!
