Limit Animal Testing By Passing the Lautenberg Act Now!

Each year, at least 1.1 million animals are used in research in the United States alone. The USDA reports nearly 100,000 of them are used in tests that incorporate pain and no drugs. With known alternatives to animal testing available, we at Care2 think this widespread cruelty is unacceptable—and our leaders seem to be catching on.

The Senate will soon be starting debate on a long-needed chemical safety bill, which includes provisions that restrict animal testing much more than the law does now. Encourage your lawmakers to pass the bipartisan Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act to modernize and make humane the way the U.S. tests products.

Dear Senate members,

We urge you to pass the long overdue Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act, which includes neccessary provisions that restrict animal testing much more than the law does now. Please help bring our country into the present with more accurate, less cruel alternative testing.

Thank you.
