Strong, representative leadership for USA negotiations

The United Staff Association includes professional and associate staff. We are members who identify by different genders and races. Yet too often our leadership does not necessarily reflect the diversity of our association. While we appreciate those who volunteer to advocate for USA members, we must be cognizant of the varying needs of our constituent groups.

As USA prepares to negotiate a new contract for its members, the Negotiations Team must be representative of the membership. Therefore, instead of appointing two White males from the professional staff as Chairmen of the Negotiations Team, we respectfully request that the USA president fill one of those leadership positions with a woman of color from the associate staff.
