Iowa Needs More Bike Lanes- Keep Local Cyclists Safe!

In 2016, the Iowa Bicycle Coalition reported 11 bicyclist deaths, 8 of which were caused by being struck by a vehicle. There are many distracted drivers out there and cyclists feel unsafe when they are riding their bike in town. My goal is to have more bike lanes installed in Iowa. This way cyclists have their own space, they are more visible to drivers and they can safely use the roads. My father, Keith Wells, has been hit by a car while riding his bike, and luckily he is still with us. Unfortunately, many families have lost loved ones due to bike accidents, and bike lanes can prevent more from happening. Consider making a needed change to protect local cyclists in Iowa. Thank you.
