First it was Rand Paul, who knew he may have contracted COVID-19 and used the Senate gym, locker rooms, and swimming pool while awaiting his test result — which was positive.
Then it got even worse.
Pennsylvania State Representative Brian Sims (D) revealed that not only had House Republicans concealed from Democrats that a member who they worked closely with had test positive for COVID-19, they actually took precautionary measures on their own while allowing the deadly virus to potentially spread throughout the Democratic caucus.
Sims was understandably enraged, and not only because of the reckless disregard for health and life. The reason Republicans, who only have control of the legislature because of heavily gerrymandered districts, are pushing ahead with work as a plague works its way through their ranks, is to ram through an extreme conservative agenda while they still have the votes and people are distracted with the pandemic.
The disgusting disregard for human life borders on criminal and certainly has no place in America's legislative bodies.
