Wild salmon are more precious than gold in Alaska’s Bristol Bay. Salmon are essential to the ecosystem, feed generations of families, and anchor an economy worth $480 million each year.

Yet, a massive copper and gold mining district is proposed in the region’s headwaters. A new report by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) warns of serious threats to clean water and fish habitat.
