Raise Suicide Awareness & Fund Mental Institutions

I've been suffering from depression since I was twelve years old; I'm now seventeen. I was recently hospitalized for eight days due to a suicide attempt. I started out in the crisis center of a local hospital and was there for seven hours. The nurse told me the rest of the hospital was being renovated and the mental health wing would be last. There were limited beds and I therefore had to travel an hour to the closest mental hospital. The conditions of the mental hospital were terrible. The rooms were very outdated. Lights were broken in many rooms, the beds felt like bricks and there were bugs in the bathrooms.
Depression is a very complicated disease that is hard to understand if you've never experienced it yourself. It's also just as life threatening as cancer or diabetes. I'm reaching out to people so we can all work together to support funding for better conditions and hopefully building of new mental institutions. please sign even if you or a loved one has never experienced mental illness.
