Protect Manatees from Harm

  • af: Animal Advocates
  • mottagare: Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Park Service, State of Florida Governor

A current policy in Florida prohibits recreational diving in Wakulla Springs, yet Florida is considering opening Wakulla State Park to recreational diving and increased development around the springs.

Manatee are listed by the World Conservation Union as vulnerable to extinction and it is illegal under federal and Florida law to injure or harm a manatee.

We ask that Wakulla State Park keep the policy it has had for 26 years and keep the ban on recreational diving in the manatees habitat.
