Tell the UK Government to Provide Care for Victims of Slavery

Slavery victims in the UK are being abandoned by authorities as soon as they are identified, according to a report in independent.co.uk.

The current policy allows victims of slavery to fall straight back into the hands of traffickers. The report states: "Almost 1,400 victims of human trafficking, including cases of sexual exploitation and domestic servitude, were identified by the government's National Referral Mechanism (NRM) last year.

"Support is provided during the assessment process, which includes giving those fleeing exploitation a place in a “safe house”, but victims are required to leave the housing just two weeks after a final decision is made."

The UK Government needs to provide long-term care and safe housing for victims of slavery. Will you join me in demanding the government provides long-term support, including housing to protect victims of trafficking from more abuse. Please sign and share the petition.
