Washington Legislation to Delist All Wolf Packs

  • af: Elaine A
  • mottagare: Representative Brian Blake (360) 786 - 7870

HB 1872 "Prohibits the fish and wildlife commission from designating or maintaining a designation for the gray wolf as an endangered, threatened, or sensitive species in a county east of the crest of the Cascade mountains that shares a border with Canada." it expands the range from 1/3rd of the state to more than half of the state delisting all the wolves.
This area, east of the Cascades, has only 90 wolves, hardly a viable population. Better management methods need to be implemented to sustain these packs, along with better educational measures to help farmers, ranchers and wolves coexist in the area. Delisting them, killing them, is not a viable solution for a speices that is necessary for a healthy diverse environment.

Please call your Washington State Representives and Brian Blake to vote NO on HB 1872.
