Hit and Run Resulting in Death = Go Directly to Jail

My daughter Arianna Gamber and her friend, Lizzy Zito were walking in the grass near the bike lane in Charleston, SC. Because the sidewalk had ended. They were hit by two separate drivers that both left the roadway and then they were left to die. Like many other pedestrians and bicyclists. The law protects the individuals that flee as they often escape DUI charges by leaving the scene. They can negotiate bail or bond for years while they await trial and by the time that happens, details of the person killed at the scene are often vague. If someone dies as a result of a vehicle hitting them, there should be no option for bail or bond. The driver should go straight to jail and await trial there.
