Add Elizabeth Howe's Name to City Hall Monument

Elizabeth Howe came to Niagara Falls in 1919 and set up the International Institute through the War Council of the YWCA. She assisted thousands of immigrants from 25 different nations as they assimilated into American culture. Miss Howe died in 1922 and has been mostly forgotten although her legacy lives in the descendants of these thousands of immigrants she helped. She is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls.

Our purpose with this petition is to ask the city to add Elizabeth Howe to the monument on the grounds of Niagara Falls City Hall, to be added to the list of "pioneers and citizens who through their patriotism, self-sacrifice and endeavors have contributed in an outstanding degree to the greatness of our beloved city." (As inscribed on the monument)
