Proposed Faculty Statement

In acknowledgement of the weakened financial condition of St. John’s University resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, we believe that furloughing staff should not be an option to balancing the budget, as it contradicts the University’s Vincentian ethos.

We believe that the financial onus of balancing the university’s budget should be shared by all: faculty, administrators, and staff. We feel that shared sacrifice is just and in the long-term best interests of St. John’s University.
