Put a STOP to Mulesing
Mulesing is a cruel practice here in Australia and sadly it is very common. Mulesing involves cutting off the wool bearing skin around its rump with steel shears.

New South Wales Department of Primary Industries states in the Standard Operating Procedures that, "While the operation causes some pain, no pre or post operative pain relief measures are used".'

We the undersigned are extremely worried that such a cruel practice like Mulesing is still considered legal in Australia. We understand that many farmers consider mulesing 'essential' in preventing flystrike in sheep. We argue that there are other ways around this infection.
There is an injection available for sheep that will smooth the skin on their rump and prevent flys from laying eggs. Even if this method is too expensive then it should still be illegal to not give sheep some form of relief from mulesing.
