Don't let Republican extremists block emergency funding for the collapsed Baltimore bridge

Almost immediately after the disastrous bridge collapse in Baltimore, House Republicans sprang into action -- to prove they could be the biggest jerks in Washington.

Before President Biden even requested emergency funding, maniacs in the House Freedom Caucus let it be known that it would have to include a completely unrelated provision regarding liquefied natural gas exports -- something likely to delay or kill the measure.

Emergency funding is there for emergencies, and there has historically been bipartisan agreement to get it to where it is needed as soon as possible. But for the last several years, Republicans have been shamelessly blocking it for emergencies in Democratic states -- such as Maryland.

Don't let them get away with it. There is strong public support for emergency funding, and the more we can shine a light on what these jerks are doing, the greater the pressure will be for them to stand down.
