Ban LGBT Conversion Therapy in Georgia!

Georgia could be one of the first states to ban discredited conversion therapy aimed at transforming gay children into straight children. State representative Keisha Waites filed a new bill aimed at banning the therapy. Waites says, "The American Psychological Association has ruled that this therapy is ineffective and doesn't work."

Only four states and Washington, D.C. currently ban LGBT conversion therapy. Recently, NY Governor Cuomo announced regulations that would effectively ban it in his state. Modern reports from the American Psychological Association show that conversion therapy is not effective in changing a child's sexual orientation, but it can be dangerous or fatal. The practice is linked to social withdraw, suicidal ideation, high-risk sexual behaviors and more.
