Support PPWC Local 16 Workers On Strike

The Pulp, Paper and Woodworkers of Canada (PPWC) Local 16 and RockTenn were not able to bring the collective bargaining process to a successful conclusion.  Wages and term ultimately formed the stumbling blocks that have led to the local having to take the decision to strike.

PPWC Local 16, based in British Columbia, is striking to defend the gains they have worked so hard for in the past.  The union is asking for a fair deal and for their members to return to work for a decent wage, based on the values of equality and economic justice that Canadians hold so dear.

We have received many expressions of support from workers throughout the country.  We further encourage any and all to support this group of dedicated workers.  PPWC Local 16 deserve better than what has been proposed by management.  Please sign this petition, which is being made public and will be presented to the RockTenn company.

Together, we can make a difference and have PPWC Local 16 return to work with fairness and dignity.
