Peace Corps rejects President-elect Donald Trump's inciting people to violence, abuse, and hate speech

Peace Corps Volunteers are requesting Peace Corps to endorse this statement:
"As Peace Corps Volunteers serving in the United States abroad, we hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL persons are created equal: men and women, regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation, race, or religion; rich and poor, immigrant and American. It is our belief that President of the United States should uphold the values and principles that we espouse and that have helped us to build strong ties and lasting relationships with a diversity of individuals from across the globe. It is our belief that divisive rhetoric is destructive to our mission as Peace Corps where we are striving to build bonds and alliances for an equitable world with stability and opportunity for all people. With these principles, we condemn the ways in which President-Elect, Donald Trump, has incited people to violence against racial minorities, women, LBGTQIA people, foreigners, and people of other faiths. We reject the acts of violence, abuse, and hate speech. The Peace Corps will continue to serve with messages that bring people together."
