Ban Using Underwear Style As Evidence Against Rape Victims in Ireland

  • mottagare: Irish Government, Ireland
A young girl, aged 17, took her own life after a hearing at court addressing her rape. Her attacker's defence made the child hold up her underwear. They implied the design of the underwear was a good enough reason for the male to attack her. This is absurd.

This petition is to ban the victims' style of underwear to be used as a form of evidence within a court of law due its victim blaming nature.

Clothing never has and never shall act as a form of consent or as a justifiable reason to sexually assaulted somebody.

The removal of this victim blaming within the court room should hopefully prevent any more tragic suicides.
