Stop Ivory Sales!

"Skyrocketing demand for ivory killed as many as 35,000 African elephants in 2012 – that's an average of 96 elephants each day. It's an uphill battle in the fight to save elephants, but there is some good news.

Just yesterday the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service crushed nearly 6 tons of confiscated ivory tusks and carvings – permanently destroying the U.S. stockpile collected from this deadly trade. It was a highly publicized event.

This sends a powerful message to poachers and ivory cartels everywhere, and is a huge victory for all of those who have worked so hard to stop the black market sale of ivory all these years. Now, ask our government to take the next step. Tell Congress to issue a moratorium on the sale of ivory in the United States."
