L'OCCITANE: say no to animal cruelty

L'OCCITANE, is an international retailer of body, face, fragrances and home products. It claims to be against testing, however, they sell their products in China where these products need to be tested on animals.

On their site it states: L'OCCITANE is fundamentally committed to the abolition of animal testing of beauty products worldwide. In China, where our products are retailed, the local Chinese authorities request testing on some cosmetic products sold on the Chinese market, as they view it as the best way to safeguard their consumers' safety. Our company does not conduct those tests; they are done by Chinese laboratories, approved by local authorities on a limited animal panel.

This is an excuse heard by multiple make-up brands. They claim this is the best way to make an end to animal testing. In the end this is just an excuse for make-up brands to make a lot of money.

Animal testing in China is cruel and unnecessary and it needs to stop! L'OCCITANE should take responsibility and end their sales in China!
