Ask Tennessee Representative Not to Give Away Guns

Tennessee Representative Andy Holt is hosting his first ever HogFest and turkey shoot at his farm. But why is he giving away assault rifles as part of this festival -- just days after one of the worst mass shootings in US history?

Originally, Holt was going to give away only one AR-15. But when critics questioned this action so soon after the Miami nightclub shooting, Holt doubled down in anger. Now, he is giving away two such rifles, and they are very similar to the one used in the Miami killings.

Please join me in asking Andy Holt not to give away assault rifles out of respect for the many families who lost loved ones in the recent nightclub shooting. Please act now as the festival is scheduled for June 25.

Dear Mr. Holt:

I was upset to learn that you are giving away two assault rifles at your upcoming HogFest. While a festival is certainly a wonderful thing to bring together the community, this assault weapon giveaway is not. The guns you propose to provide are very simlar to the one which cost so many lives in a Miami nightclub shooting. Please respect the friends and families of the loved ones who were killed in the recent shooting by desisting from giving away these guns.
